Appetizer
Level 0 → 1Friend, let's challenge that enormous, slimy land creature.
TRIALS
14 trial stages tied to boss progress.
After the story intro and once you hold Halibut, trials appear under Halibut Legend in the quest manager. Each boss milestone raises weapon level by 1, up to 14. Levels only go up.
Bosses can be cleared out of order. If you already defeated a boss, the matching entry auto-completes once your weapon level reaches that stage. Entries not yet unlocked do not appear early.
While holding Halibut, the left tracker shows the active target: if the boss is absent, it prompts you to summon; if present, progress tracks remaining HP. The Boss Rush branch of the final stage has no trackable target; start it with the Terminus. Primordial Wyrm remains trackable if you take that path instead.
Trials only raise weapon level. Domain layers and resurrection progress are separate.
The 14 stages below follow in-game order. Each card shows Halibut’s in-game commission briefing (from official localization). Objectives below the briefing are Wiki supplements listing the actual boss targets and completion rules.
Friend, let's challenge that enormous, slimy land creature.
There's a big eye staring at us. That's quite rude; we should teach it a lesson.
Life thrives not only in the Abyss but also in the Jungle. We should pay a visit to the queen bee there.
A cursed skeleton that never decays—we need to put it to rest. The cries for help from Hell are becoming more frequent. We should leave soon. I'm sure the Guide won't mind.
Tips: If the world is already in Hardmode and Skeletron is down, this entry auto-completes.
Do you know how inanimate objects come to life? I once built a massive underwater machine that could launch nuclear warheads made of bubbles and countless thermonuclear torpedoes. I used it to hunt gigantic creatures living 10,000 meters below the sea—until I met... Oh, I digress. I think we'll soon have four mechanical friends visiting us, so we should be prepared. Also, there's a mutated giant sea worm in the polluted waters above the Abyss. It used to be a gatekeeper at the Sulphurous Sea University. It should still be quite friendly; we can go have some afternoon tea with it.
The next research sample is the clone. A crude replica, yes, but it's saturated with that brimstone presence... excellent material for analysis. ...Oh, right. One more thing. I'm fond of the jungle. It's practically my second home, brimming with life energy on par with the deep abyss. However, we need to find a way to release it first. Remember those giant bulbs underground? Go 'pick' them. It will... help with my botany degree.
I enjoy archaeological digs. Last time I was wandering through the Jungle, I saw a massive ruin. We should now have the key to open the door to that ruin. Let's go check it out. Inside, there's an ancient machine waiting for us to power it up, just like a remote control for an air conditioner. Besides that, there's an alien plague spreading on the surface, infecting the land and most inorganic objects. Every night, a tormented mining machine roams around, long since infected. Let's put it out of its misery.
Do you know the secret on the far side of the Moon? There's a giant octopus, a sponge, and a starfish... Oh, I mean, the lunar crisis is coming.
Now it's time for the solar crisis. A powerful energy being escaped from the far side of the Sun and burrowed into the planet's core. We need to head down there and give it a cold shower.
Countless indomitable souls from ancient battlefields have gathered now, hidden deep within the dungeon, and are becoming restless. We can go down there and slay some of the wandering spirits. This might bring about a small storm in the Subspace, but it'll also lure them out.
There's a species that is born and grows in space, capable of withstanding intense cosmic radiation and celestial-level energy. We encountered one a long time ago, but now we face the champion among them—a being that claims to have devoured gods.
The Jungle's temperature has risen lately; I think that powerful dragon has returned.
We're about to face the pinnacle of inorganic creations, with unmatched firepower and defense. Additionally, the Sulphurous Fire Altar seems capable of summoning something.
Tips: The left tracker points at the Exo Mech with the lowest HP.
In the Abyss lies a special stone—use it to face the final battle. There's also a powerful sea creature that destroyed my machine; let's seek revenge.
Tips: Boss Rush has no trackable boss. Start it with the Terminus; completing it jumps straight to level 14.
