Laser Energy Trans

Laser Energy Trans sends UE as a laser beam to another machine. No pipes are needed, but throughput is low and distance eats into it, so it suits cross-base links rather than main trunks.

Remote power transmission
After placement, right-click to activate the laser navigation,
and then right-click on other power buildings to link them
The farther the transmission distance, the greater the energy loss
The maximum loss is 100%

  1. Default: no target
  2. Right-click transceiver → navigation mode, laser guide visible
  3. Right-click target machine → linked
  4. Right-click transceiver again → cancel or retarget

The paired target and its world position are saved across reloads.

Each cycle the transceiver works out a base transfer rate, which is the smallest of three values: 120 UE/s, the UE it is currently holding, and the free capacity left in the target. What actually arrives is that base rate multiplied by a distance factor, and the factor falls off the farther apart the two machines sit.

DistanceFactorEffective delivery
01.00120 UE/s
~19 tiles0.7590 UE/s
~38 tiles0.5060 UE/s
~56 tiles0.2530 UE/s
~75 tiles+0.00No transfer

The transceiver always spends the full base rate, so the share lost to distance is still drained from the sender. A long link costs the same on your side even though the target receives only a fraction.

The beam fades along with the distance factor, so a faint beam means heavy loss.

  • Cross-base or surface ↔ cave links; not a main bus (120 UE/s cap)
  • Chain relays for long spans, but each hop loses efficiency. Beyond ~75 tiles total, use the Energy Pipeline
  • Pipe-fed transceiver acts as an edge radiator
