Thermal Generator

The Thermal Generator turns fuel heat into UE. Cheapest recipe and widest fuel pool—usually the first industrial machine players build.

Put fuel in for power generation.
Right-clicking on the block can quickly insert fuel, and Shift-right-clicking can remove it.

  1. Fuel burn → internal heat. Burn duration ≈ √(burn value) × 0.2 + 1 seconds
  2. Generation starts above 50 temp; efficiency peaks near 420 (optimal)
  3. Output per second = peak × efficiency, capped by free UE storage
  4. Each 1 UE costs 0.08 temp; temperature also passively decays over time

Efficiency curve (rounded):

TempEfficiencyUE/s
< 500%0
100~38%~34
200~62%~56
300~76%~68
420 (optimal)~86%~78
600 (cap)~94%~85

Steady fuel at ≥95% max temp ≈ peak output.

About every 0.1 s, burns one fuel if:

  • Nothing currently burning
  • Temp < 95% of max
  • UE < 99% of cap

Full and hot = stops burning. Lava Bucket and Bottomless Lava Bucket leave 1 Empty Bucket.

Values are burn value (heat and duration), not direct UE.
