Abyssal Domain
ABYSSAL DOMAIN
Halibut
More eyes open, higher tier, steeper cost
Overview
Section titled “Overview”While holding Halibut, an Abyssal Eye icon sits at the lower-left of the screen. Left-click it, or press the keybind, to open the Abyssal Atlas. Switch to the Domain Eyes tab and the big heading at the top reads “Abyssal Domain”: that’s the panel this page covers. The center shows the Halibut icon, nine eyes ring the outside, and a tenth eye hides above the center.
Opening and closing eyes
Section titled “Opening and closing eyes”Click any outer eye to open or close it. No need to hold the button.
Eyes are numbered by the order you open them: the first one opened counts as tier 1, the second as tier 2, and so on. Closing an eye renumbers the rest starting from tier 1 again.
The number of currently open eyes is your domain tier, up to 9 on the outer ring. This tier gates how far you can progress through Domain Skills, and also sets Tidal Domain’s outer radius and water-pressure damage.
The tenth eye
Section titled “The tenth eye”Once all nine outer eyes are open and Halibut sits at weapon level 14, a tenth eye appears at the center. It toggles independently of the outer ring.
Opening it counts as tier 10, meeting the requirement for Aura of Overwhelming Power. Switching away from Halibut does not clear this eye’s state, it just stops counting toward your tier while Halibut isn’t held.
System Crashed
Section titled “System Crashed”The more eyes you open, the faster Abyssal Resurrection builds. The higher Halibut’s weapon level, the more eyes you can keep open for free: those eyes enter System Crashed state, shown in red with a “System Crashed” tag, and add almost nothing to resurrection speed even though they still count toward your tier.
Crash slots go to the earliest-opened eyes first. Any eye numbered above your crash level still adds its full share to resurrection speed.
| Weapon level (trial progress) | Crash level (free eyes) |
|---|---|
| 0 – 1 | 0 |
| 2 | 1 |
| 3 | 2 |
| 4 – 5 | 3 |
| 6 | 4 |
| 7 – 8 | 5 |
| 9 | 6 |
| 10 | 7 |
| 11 – 12 | 8 |
| 13 | 9 |
| 14 (max) | 10 |
Weapon level comes from Trials. Bottled Fish Oil adds crash level +1 while active; being cursed by the Siren’s Musical Box sets a floor of 5.
Panel lockout
Section titled “Panel lockout”Using Causality Reset from the domain skills locks the Abyssal Domain panel for a while. You cannot toggle any eye during the lockout, and the panel shows a countdown behind a red warning frame. A higher crash level means a shorter lock; see Domain Skills · Causality Reset for the exact seconds. After death and respawn, the lock is capped at 3 seconds.
In-game text: the ten tiers
Section titled “In-game text: the ten tiers”Hover any eye to see its tier description; tier 10’s text appears on the center eye’s tooltip instead. Official text by tier:
Tier 1
The first eye opens, tearing a rift in the dark side of your consciousness. You hear the sound of tides that shouldn’t exist, as a clammy chill begins to seep through the veil of reality.
Tier 2
The second eye overlaps with the first, and your vision blurs with unfocused double images. Reality blurs like a water-damaged photograph, as the dreary seascape of another dimension forces its way into the current space. A new domain has been forcibly opened within the original, forming a bizarre, dual-layered nested dimension.
Tier 3
A tearing agony rips through your forehead as three spectral blue eyes, glowing with an ominous light, roll wildly beneath your skin. Light begins to be swallowed by this space, and the abyssal whispers from within your body no longer sound like hallucinations, but distinct chewing sounds.
Tier 4
Four eyes split into two pairs, covering your own. The once-separate abyssal projections begin to overlap and fuse. The world in your eyes is no longer as it was; the structure of matter is deconstructed and reorganized within the murky seawater.
Tier 5
Your skin becomes pale and bloated, like a corpse long submerged. Countless restless eyes swim and scramble beneath your skin like fish, finally converging on your forehead, tearing open a hideous singular eye. The five tiers of the domain completely merge, granting you the ability to twist causality within the distorted space.
Tier 6
The sixth eye opens upon your heart. It pumps no longer warm blood, but eerie black water, fetid and cold, like sewage soaked with rotting corpses. With every pulsation, it stirs visible dark blue veins within the sea.
Tier 7
Seven eyes arrange themselves in a bizarre array on your forehead, bursting with light to the pulse of time. The domain begins a frantic erosion of reality. Wherever its borders reach, matter dissolves like sand, and laws are rewritten by the tides.
Tier 8
The eighth eye materializes as a silent vortex in the palm of your hand. The water pressure within the domain becomes almost palpable; light bends here, and sound dies here.
Tier 9
Nine is the absolute number. Nine eyes form an illusory ring of the abyss above your head. The last trace of humanity has been washed away by the seawater. What stands here now is a shell bearing an endless sea of corpses.
Tier 10
Tiers lose their meaning; one is infinity. You have become the abyss, and the abyss is you. Wherever your gaze falls is a new Genesis. You have reached the end of this shore and become the deity of the other.
