The Thermal Battery does not generate or spend UE. It stores when generation is high and discharges when load spikes.

How it works
Section titled “How it works”Adjacent pipes treat it as storage, not a normal consumer:
- Pipe fill rate more than 5% above the battery: the pipe charges the battery (up to 600 UE/s per side)
- Battery fill rate more than 5% above the pipe: the battery discharges into the pipe
- UE in the battery also marks that network as powered
Machines take from generators first. Surplus goes into the battery. The battery does not compete with consumers.
Lamp brightness is current UE / max UE. Pick it up and place it again: the charge stays.
A weak generator (wind, hydro) next to one battery can bank for a while, then feed a hungry machine. Several generators plus one battery beat a pile of batteries.
