Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Blood Altar is a 4×3 placeable tied to the Blood Moon, similar to a Demon Altar anchor but dedicated to blood-moon play. Right-click to spend one Bloody Tear and toggle the Blood Moon; while active it also collects dropped Bloody Tears and blood orbs into the nearest chest.
Right click on the Altar with a Bloody Tear to summon the Blood Moon
Automatically collects dropped Bloody Tears and blood orbs from around the world and stores them in the nearest storage bin.

- Right-click: toggles the Blood Moon when you have 1 Bloody Tear in your inventory (press again to end); insufficient offering shows a warning and deals 50 damage
- During Blood Moon: forces night + Blood Moon + fixed moon phase; the altar stores dropped Bloody Tears and blood orbs in the nearest chest within about 38 tiles
- Hovering the altar shows a Bloody Tear icon
- Cannot be destroyed with explosives
