Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Blood Altar is a 4×3 placeable tied to the Blood Moon. Right-click to spend blood orbs and toggle the Blood Moon; while active it also collects nearby blood orbs into the nearest chest.
“Let the world be wreathed by Crimson.”
- Right-click: toggles the Blood Moon when you have 50 blood orbs in your inventory (press again to end); insufficient orbs show a warning and deal 50 damage
- During Blood Moon: forces night + Blood Moon + fixed moon phase; the altar stores nearby blood orbs in the nearest chest within 600 tiles
- Hovering the altar shows a blood orb icon
- Cannot be destroyed with explosives

Without Calamity installed, recipes may omit blood orbs—check in-game.
