Crystal Dimming is a mid-tier weapon in the snowball cannon line, upgraded from Snow Blindness. Its mechanics mirror Universal Frost at a smaller scale: steady rapid fire, an Ice Soul orb on normal shots, and an automatic Glacial Age mode after 20+ consecutive shots that summons an ice pillar array at the cursor.

Each shot fires:

  • 3 bullet-form snowballs (each with extra updates; 50% chance for 1/3 damage on a single pellet; 25% chance to grow larger; 33% chance for +5 pierce and extra updates)
  • One Ice Soul Orb: lasts about 3 s, homes on enemies within about 38 tiles; bounces off walls at 0.9–2.0× speed mapped by lifetime and drops 3 ice spikes downward

Normal fire gradually speeds up (fastest about every 0.12 s).

After about 20 shots at max fire rate, enters about 1 s of charge. The first shot in this mode fires:

  • 9 empowered snowballs (half damage) + 50% chance to add ice shards
  • Multiple ice bursts and antler spikes at the cursor
  • Screen shake + charge sound, then a short cooldown

After one charged shot the mode ends. Compared to Universal Frost, it lacks the blizzard field and overall scale is smaller.
