Deepcrystal Armor
“Shell traded for blade, blood traded for tide”
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Deepcrystal Armor is the set that follows the Abyssal Crystal Shrimp. It shares a material line with the abyss set. Craft it at a Mythril Anvil from Crystal Shrimp Shells. Chest and greaves are shared. Helmets split by class.
Piece bonuses apply as soon as you equip that slot. Orbiting bubbles, class detonation, and the hit counter-burst start only when a helmet, the breastplate, and the greaves are worn together. The set bonus adds another 18% damage for that helmet’s class, and incoming damage is deepened by 10%.

Bubble layers
Section titled “Bubble layers”While the set is active, hitting an enemy with a weapon or projectile adds one bubble layer. At least about 0.5 seconds must pass before another layer can be added. While you are in liquid, that gap shortens to about one third of a second.
The gauge counts up to 5 layers. At most 4 bubbles stay visible around you. The next qualifying hit fills the gauge and detonates. The fifth layer does not remain on you.
Cavitation bursts, water jets, water bolts, and seeking bubbles from a detonation do not add layers. Friendly targets and targets that do not take damage also do not add layers.
Unequipping the set clears every bubble at once. If about 5 seconds pass with no new layer, bubbles begin to fade, losing about 1 layer per second.
Class detonation
Section titled “Class detonation”At 5 layers, every bubble collapses. The helmet decides how the bubbles detonate. Detonation damage scales with that class’s total damage bonus. While you are in liquid, that detonation is multiplied by 1.5.
- Deepcrystal Warhelm: a heavy cavitation burst at the target. Base damage 460. Blast radius about 12 tiles. Non-boss enemies that still take knockback can be pulled toward the center. A hit applies Wet for about 4 seconds and Abyssal Pressure for about 3 seconds.
- Deepcrystal Visor: a piercing water jet from you toward the target. 160 base damage per hit, up to about 56 tiles. The jet deals damage only after it has opened, and it can hit more than once while it lasts. The jet is wider while you are in liquid.
- Deepcrystal Crown: three guided water bolts. 150 base damage each. They steer toward the lock point for about 0.5 seconds, then fall under gravity. A hit applies Wet for about 3 seconds.
- Deepcrystal Feelers: four seeking bubbles. 120 base damage each, seeking about 44 tiles. On contact they rupture, and they deal no damage while rupturing. A hit applies Wet for about 3 seconds and Abyssal Pressure for about 2 seconds. The bubbles are larger while you are in liquid.
Abyssal Pressure slows enemies. The slow is weaker on bosses.
Hit counter-burst
Section titled “Hit counter-burst”When you take damage, every stored bubble shatters.
Separately from the shatter, a cavitation counter-burst also fires at your position. Base damage 360, radius about 10 tiles, about 4 seconds of cooldown. The burst still fires after the cooldown even if you had no bubbles. Its damage scales with the helmet’s class bonus and does not take the 1.5 liquid multiplier.
The counter-burst can also pull non-boss enemies that still take knockback toward its center, and it applies Wet and Abyssal Pressure.
In the set and greaves text, “wet” means you are in liquid. It is not the Wet debuff.
The greaves’ extra 10% movement speed works from the greaves alone. Faster charging and the 1.5 detonation multiplier need the full set. The hit counter-burst does not take that multiplier.
How to Obtain
Section titled “How to Obtain”Craft the pieces at a Mythril Anvil. The two recipes are exclusive. With Calamity, the set uses abyss materials. Without Calamity, it uses Shark Fins and Souls of Might. Chlorophyte counts differ as well.
