Elysium

Elysium

Weapon Magic Gilt

Elysium is a Gilt endgame staff, paired against Pandemonium. While held, two skill buttons light up at the bottom left of the screen.

Hold left click to channel the Serpent Rite. Release to send a wave of holy light. Lesser enemies touched by the wave become sacred serpents and attack other enemies.

Right click exalts a town resident within about 19 tiles and calls them as a disciple. If nobody nearby can be exalted, or all twelve holy seats are full, the attempt fails. Disciples orbit you, each in their own office, and grant holy blessing. The blessing is highest when all twelve seats are filled. When life is nearly depleted, Judas stabs the wielder.

Before Revelation, the left skill is Divine Thunder: hold, drag to the cursor, then release to call a holy bolt onto the foe nearest the cursor. Boss damage burns away one disciple in office and leaves one point of Martyrdom Power. John is not burned this way. With 11 Martyrdom Power and John still in office, the left button becomes Unveil Revelation. Click it once. John is martyred and the heavenly field descends. After that, right click summons the Four Horsemen instead. The left skill becomes Celestial Meteor (hold, drag to the cursor, then release). The right skill is Judgement of the Last Seals (click once). The last seals break the fifth, sixth, and seventh in order. After the finale, Revelation ends.

Hold Shift while the staff is in hand to open the Rose Window. Drag seats to reassign holy offices.

Right-click exalts town residents, not enemies. The range is about 19 tiles. On success that resident vanishes from the world. They are not killed, and they drop nothing.

Seats fill in empty-seat order, from Peter to Judas. A martyred seat is skipped. Each name on the Rose Window has one office line. Martyred seats cannot be dragged.

Disciples orbit you. If the staff is still in your inventory, exalted seats that have not been martyred gather again when you enter the world. If the staff is not in your inventory, they fade away, and that departure does not add Martyrdom Power.

Each disciple in office raises damage by 1.2%, crit chance by 1%, and defense by 1.

Peter in office adds 6 more defense. Judas in office adds 6% damage, 4% crit, and 4 defense, and life regeneration rises.

With eleven in office, damage rises another 6% and life regeneration rises again. With all twelve filled, damage rises another 10%, crit another 8%, defense another 10, and movement speed rises 10%. Twelve filled is also the condition for Judas’s stab.

Peter. The Rose Window writes: When ready, blocks part of one incoming hit for you. When the shield is ready, the next hit leaves about seven tenths of its damage. Then the shield cannot block again for about 9 seconds.

Andrew. Casts a net of light on a cluster within about 29 tiles. The net’s radius is about 9 tiles, and it holds for about 3.5 seconds after it opens. Foes inside are dragged slower. Bosses are not slowed. He can cast again after about 8 seconds.

James. Chain lightning hits the nearest foe within about 32 tiles and leaps up to four times, about 19 tiles per leap. The hit is about 85% of the staff’s current damage. He can strike again after about 2.5 seconds.

John. Sends a gaze to up to three unmarked foes within about 37 tiles. A hit applies Mark of Revelation for about 5 seconds; all damage they take rises by 8%. He is the key that unveils Revelation. He can send again after about 6 seconds.

Philip. If a foe is within about 44 tiles, he consecrates you for about 4 seconds. During that time your damaging projectiles bend gently toward foes near each projectile. Minions, sentries, and spear-like held shots are not bent. He can consecrate again after about 5 seconds.

Bartholomew. Throws a blade at the nearest unrevealed foe within about 27 tiles. A hit applies Truth Revealed for about 6 seconds: 25 extra armor penetration, and the foe is shown. The throw is about 35% of the staff’s damage. He can throw again after about 7 seconds.

Thomas. If a foe is within about 40 tiles and you do not already have Eye of Verification, he grants about 5 seconds of guaranteed crits. Melee and projectiles both count. He can verify again after about 9 seconds.

Matthew. Sends a gold seal to up to three unblessed foes within about 32 tiles. Blessing of Wealth lasts about 8 seconds. When that foe dies they drop 2 to 6 silver coins and a golden rain within about 8 tiles, dealing about 60% of the staff’s damage. He can send again after about 4 seconds.

James the Less. When your life is below 86% of its cap, he restores 45 life. He does not heal while life is at or above 86% of its cap. He can heal again after about 8 seconds.

Thaddaeus. About every 11 seconds he draws one miracle: restore 25 life and gain Regeneration for about 8 seconds; or Swiftness for about 8 seconds; or Ironskin and Endurance together for about 8 seconds; or a heavier chain lightning at about 120% of the staff’s damage. If lightning is drawn and no foe is nearby, it becomes Ironskin and Endurance. He does not spend a miracle when you are at full life and no foe is nearby.

Simon the Zealot. If a foe is within about 16 tiles he ignites Fervor for about 6 seconds: 10% attack speed and 12% movement speed. Nearby foes catch Daybreak for about 3 seconds. He can ignite again after about 1.5 seconds.

Judas. The Rose Window writes: Lavish gifts, and a traitor’s blade. His gifts while in office are under Holy Blessing above. When all twelve seats are filled and your life is at 30% of its cap or below, he winds up and stabs through you. The hit deals current life plus 200, and usually kills the player. The death reason reads that you were sold out by Judas for thirty pieces of silver. After the stab his seat is vacant, the twelve-seat bonus and his own gifts drop together, and he will not stab again for about 15 seconds. When life is below 45% of its cap and all twelve are filled, silver coins already flicker around him. That is the omen. He has not struck yet.

When a boss, or a foe counted as a boss, hits you, one disciple in office is burned away. John is not burned this way. About 1.5 seconds pass between burns. A martyred seat cannot be exalted again. The Rose Window marks that seat Martyred and tallies Martyrdom Power: martyred seats other than John. With 11 power and John still in office, you can unveil Revelation.

If John was already martyred when you last left the world, Revelation is treated as over when you enter again. John returns. The other martyred seats fall vacant and need new residents.
