Overview
Section titled “Overview”Heartcarver is a reward from a specific story quest. Its damage also climbs with world boss progress. While you hold it, the blade beats with your heart. A hit that lands in the gap between two beats is a Carving Strike.

Combat Behavior

Section titled “Heartbeat and Carving Strikes”About 72 beats a minute while held. The blade pulses with it, and the gap flashes white when it opens. A hit in that window is a Carving Strike: forced crit, then 1.25× on that hit.
Left click
Section titled “Left click”Three thrusts, then a finisher. Ordinary thrusts also throw a spinning blood dagger, up to 4 in the air. Each dagger flies straight for a moment, then hunts a nearby enemy. The finisher does not throw.
Land the finisher as a Carving Strike and a heart comes out of the target. Two hearts can hover at once. After a short float the heart flies back and is absorbed: about 5 s of +25% attack speed, and one orbiting blood blade, up to 3. Those blades lunge at the wound of your next Carving Strike.
Right click dash
Section titled “Right click dash”A short arcing lunge, then a return stab. 1.5× damage, 2× knockback, full armor pen. About 0.6 s of invulnerability during the dash; about 2 s before the next right click. Each dash hit also checks the heartbeat window.
Thrusts and the dash deal about 42% damage against worm bodies.
World scaling
