Overview
Section titled “Overview”Decayed Sea Sand Vortex is a post-Moon Lord mage weapon dropped by The Old Duke. Each cast drops a corrupt deep-sea vortex at the cursor. The vortex stays put, drags nearby enemies into its center to rend them repeatedly, and keeps spitting out homing decayed sea orbs.

Combat Behavior
Section titled “Combat Behavior”The Vortex
Section titled “The Vortex”- Each cast costs 18 mana, use time about 0.6 s; a click spawns the vortex at the cursor, and clicking again re-drops it
- The vortex lasts about 6 s and does not move
- Enemies within about 30 tiles are pulled toward its center (no effect on fully knockback-immune foes)
- Enemies within about 14 tiles take a bite every 0.23 s for about 1/5 of the weapon’s damage, sometimes inflicting Confused
- Hostile projectiles caught in range are continuously slowed
Decayed Sea Orbs
Section titled “Decayed Sea Orbs”- The vortex throws out 2 orbs every 0.53 s, each dealing about half the weapon’s damage
- When it collapses naturally it bursts 8 orbs outward, each dealing about 65% of the weapon’s damage
- Orbs pierce 6 times and home on nearby enemies in their late flight (they will not re-target a foe already hit), exploding into acid on hit or expiry
Damage Reduction
Section titled “Damage Reduction”- Orbs deal ×0.4 to worm segments and ×0.6 to Exo Mechs Ares segments
- Vortex bites deal ×0.55 to worm segments and ×0.7 to Ares segments
