Overview
An extended rail grants beams greater range and flight speed. Terminal Cleave.
Mechanics
+50% beam lifetime, +20% beam speed, -8% damage, +15% mana.
When a main trace beam has flown about 81 tiles, a crosswise light blade unfolds in place for about 95% of that beam's damage. Beams that die before about 24 tiles do nothing. Beams that die between those distances leave a reduced blade from about 50% to 95% of the beam, scaled by distance flown.
A beam that already cleaved does not cleave again on death. Derived beams do not trigger. The blade sweeps once perpendicular to the path. Against worm body segments, the blade deals about 45% damage.
In laser mode, hold the beam for about 1 second, then release to crosscut at the cursor's point on the column, for about 125% of that laser's damage. The point-blank stretch of the column is not a valid landing point.
Build tips
Point-blank beams never cleave; you need distance for a full blade. In laser mode, hold long enough before releasing.
