Flash Step endpoint erects a paper mirror replica copying your next strike; weapon base damage -5%
Power
"Mirror Echo": Kamui Flash Step endpoint erects a paper mirror phantom lasting 2s When you swing your next blade strike, the phantom synchronously copies the cut and shatters, dealing 45% of weapon base damage
Burden
Weapon base damage reduced by 5%; the replicated strike swings from the mirror's position and orientation, dependent on placement
Origin
Mirror polishers know the reflection seems synchronized yet carries a faint delay. The groove carver seized that very delay, letting the mirror phantom swing a fraction behind
The whole blade is ×0.95. Every swing the wielder throws deals 5% less.
A normal Kamui Flash Step plants a paper mirror at the stop, facing the left or right from that moment. It stands about 2 seconds. Only one mirror stays. A new one replaces the old. Execution dashes plant nothing.
The mirror must finish standing. The first ~0.13 seconds cannot copy. After that, the next hit from Onikiri itself makes the mirror swing once, then shatter. Combo, Zanshin, Annihilating Flash, and Finale count. An ink-brand burst also counts. The dash parry itself does not.
The copy swings from the mirror. Left and right follow the statue’s face. Pitch follows the swing’s aim at its target. A mirror at a target’s side or back can miss. Size is about 85% of that swing, with lighter knockback. The copy uses weapon damage from the moment the mirror was planted, at 45% of a blade hit, and ignores the 5%. A missed copy still paid the 5%.
