Rubbing
Standing still rakes a persistent sand garden that cuts foes and speeds stance gain; moving cancels charge
Power
"Sand Garden": standing still for 1.5s rakes a sand garden field 20 tiles in radius lasting 5s Deals 18% of weapon base damage to enemies inside every 0.5s Standing within your own sand garden increases stance gain speed by 30%
Burden
Opening the garden requires remaining still to charge, moving cancels the charge progress
Origin
Garden masters rake boundless waves from fine sand without water. The carver channeled that spirit into the blade: only those who stand in calm concentration can furrow a garden of stillness with sword-intent
Karesansui is a horimono carving on the blade face. The stillness check matches Ashidome: stay nearly still for 1.5 seconds and a field is raked underfoot. Walking clears the count. Standing inside an own field will not rake again. Only one field exists. A new field voids the old. The field is pinned to world coordinates. It keeps cutting after the wielder leaves.
Radius is about 20 tiles. The hitbox is a ground ellipse flattened vertically by 0.465. The rake grows for about 0.4 seconds, then starts cutting. Lifetime is 5 seconds. It cuts every 0.5 seconds for 18% of current weapon damage. A cut foe is bound until the next cut, about 0.5 seconds. While the wielder stands in an own field, combo and Zanshin stance gain is ×1.30. The 12 stance from a dash pierce does not take this. There is no stance-gain tax and no tooltip tax.
The rubbing says “stays in place.” That means the field is world-anchored, not a moving aura.
Blade-karma
Section titled “Blade-karma”While holding Onikiri, stay planted for 30 seconds without taking a hit. Hostiles within about 26 tiles are required for it to count as a fight. Moving about 2 tiles from the foot plant restarts the count. A hit clears it at once.
