Origin
In ancient times many prized blades changed their names to boast of slaying generals. This master eschewed such vanity: heads fall as before, the name stays as before; true edges need no hollow titles for reverence
Kyushu uses the same 35% execute line, but only true heads, or foes that have no separate segments. Worm bodies, tails, and stand-in segments do not count. Body and tail segments on Calamity’s long worms cannot pass as a head.
Once the target is under 35%, the thinner its life, the bigger the bonus. The cap is higher than Higekiri: up to +85% on regular foes, up to +60% on bosses. A personal finish does not refund stance. Combo, Zanshin, Annihilating Flash, Finale, and ink brands take this bonus. Secondary cleaves do not.
The interpolation matches Higekiri. Weapon damage is ×0.97. After other conditionals, the cap stays aligned with the head hunt: 1.85 on regular heads, 1.60 on bosses. Hits on segments skip the hunt and only take the −3% tooltip. Other conditionals on that hit cap at 1.50.
The nakago holds one inscription, so this cannot stack with Higekiri’s beard-cut. Planted Step multiplies separately, then the caps above apply.
