Origin
A connoisseur once sneered at this blade, mocking its hollow reputation and dull color like raw iron. The smith took no offense, chiseling the mockery straight into the tang: raw iron shows its true worth when shattering steel
Tessetsu turns the first hit of each combo beat into an iron cut. Against foes that throw metal sparks, that hit deals +25%. The check uses the hit sound: a metal sound counts as steel. Providence, Scorn Eater, Yharon, and the Devourer of Gods’ head are excluded.
Only the first hit of a combo beat counts. Zanshin, Annihilating Flash, Finale, and dash ink brands do not. A second target hit later in the same beat also gets no bonus.
Weapon damage is ×0.90. If the target is not steel, or this beat already spent its first hit, only that 10% penalty remains. On flesh the 10% is a net loss. The nakago holds one inscription, so this bonus cannot sit with an execute inscription. Hi and horimono tooltip multipliers apply after this 10% cut.
